Marketing Director, Cottage in the Wood

A former marketing consultant to the pharmaceutical industry, Julia Davies left London and the corporate world in 2015 to take on ownership of the 30-bedroom hotel The Cottage in the Wood in the Malvern Hills with her husband Nick. £2.5 million is being invested in the hotel in a three-phase refurbishment programme. Phase one, completed in 2016, saw a redesign of 1919 Restaurant & Bar, transforming it into a true foodie destination. Phase two saw the refurbishment of 11 bedrooms launched in May this year. Julia applies her marketing consultancy expertise to implementing targeted marketing and meaningful PR initiatives at The Cottage in the Wood. She ensures the consistency of brand perception amongst target audiences – from their first discovery of The Cottage in the Wood to the booking experience and visit to the hotel – in order to generate loyalty, return visits and new bookings.
